Finding Orthodoxy

A wonderful and interesting post about finding the Orthodox faith written by Graham Yates. Perhaps the one disappointing thing is his repitition of a silly dismissal of Catholicism:

In a sense, the Catholics created the Protestants because it was the inevitable direction of its theology and practices, and Protestants would cease to exist without Catholics because they would have to stop protesting.

Perhaps the reformation drew on some weaknesses within Catholicism (are there none in Orthodoxy?), but inevitable? And does anyone truly think that Protestantism would just go away if Catholicism ceased to exist?

So I realize this has been more disagreement than recommendation, but the above quote is but a tiny part of a larger, and very strong testimony.
